Kataster is the sales system we built for JT Digital itself. It runs on the same infrastructure we control as the video engine. It keeps a knowledge base of 59,551 Slovenian companies, and a crawler reads each company's website. Many small companies have slow or badly set up websites, so the crawler copes with broken security certificates and spaces out its requests to any one site.
A language model then writes a profile of each company, sorts it into a fixed list of categories and scores it against each offer we sell, because every offer has its own idea of a good customer. For a company that fits, it drafts a first email, and a second pass of the model grades the draft. A person approves every email before anything is sent. Kataster also has a built-in CRM, and that is where we keep our contacts, deals, tasks and calls.
Every company goes through the same six steps, and nothing is sent until a person approves it.
In our first audit, 27 of the 53 facts the model wrote about real companies were made up.
It had repeated the example sentence from its instructions and called a casino a law firm. Now a fact is kept only if it shares a number, a name or a word with the company's own website.
The first version was driven step by step by a person and produced 478 finished emails in 16 sessions run by two people. In September we rebuilt it around the knowledge base. It is now about 103,000 lines of TypeScript, and about 48,000 of those lines are tests.
